Frequently Asked Questions

What documents do I need for Ireland tourist visa?

You need a valid passport, signed AVATS application form, two passport photos, 6-month bank statements, employment letter, travel itinerary, accommodation proof, and travel insurance.

Do I need to submit original documents for Ireland visa?

Your original passport must be submitted. All other supporting documents (bank statements, employment letters, etc.) are submitted as photocopies unless the embassy specifically requests originals.

How should I organise my Ireland visa documents?

Follow the order listed on the VFS Ireland checklist. Attach a cover sheet with your name and AVATS number. Avoid stapling — use paper clips or binder clips for easy review.

Does Ireland visa require travel insurance?

Travel insurance is not formally mandatory but is strongly recommended and expected by most consular officers. It should cover medical emergencies with at least €30,000 in cover for the full duration of your stay.

What happens if my documents are incomplete?

The embassy may ask for additional documents, which delays processing. In some cases VFS may not accept an incomplete submission. Always review the checklist carefully before your appointment.
